Catherine North Studios is a 1500 square ft. open-­concept music recording studio located in the heart of downtown Hamilton, Ontario. The century-­old converted church has been home to many iconic Canadian and International recording artists and albums including City & Colour Feist Broken Social Scene Arkells The Glorious Sons Cam Kahin Whitehorse Loreena McKennitt & many more.

The studio is operated by Duke Foster, Tristan Miller, Will Crann, along with a network of additional recording engineers and producers whom are all dedicated and passionate about crafting music recordings.

A beautiful and inspiring live recording room, along with a collection of new + vintage instruments and equipment, mixed with our stress-free, safe, positive, and creative atmosphere - all combine into a rewarding and memorable audio recording experience which further compliments the musical projects that we’re apart of.

Converted into to a private recording studio in the 90’s by Christopher Bromwich;
Dan Achen and Glen Marshall moved the original Catherine North Recording House into the main floor of the studio near the end of the decade, and expanded to the rest of the building shortly after.

20+ years of operation has allowed the studio to grow and adapt to the changing music recording industry, while still maintaining the original studio’s energy and our Artist Oriented Recording and Follow your Passion mottos.

Now Mixing in downtown Hamilton’s first Dolby Atmos system, and other forms of Spatial Audio.
