The Rest’s “Seesaw” emerges unscathed!

After two years in the making (and remaking and recovering), The Rest’s third full-length album, Seesaw, will be out June 12, 2012.

There is quite a story about the making of this record. The story involves a hard drive “glitch,” and illustrates the importance of backing up your data. Here’s a section from their Tumblr blog:

After a few months of false starts and false hopes, SEESAW eventually found its way to the same company responsible for airplane black box recovery. Almost five months after the process began, we miraculously had our album back. I actually laughed hysterically for about ten minutes after getting the news, finally releasing the hidden stress of not knowing if we’d ever recover the album which we had spent nearly a year and a half assembling.

In the meantime, check out the previews on their Bandcamp page, and enjoy a live version of “Always On My Mind.”
